International Affairs & Grant writer - French: Malika
Native of Guadeloupe, Malika Coco-Viloin is passionate about discovering
other countries and interacting with different cultures. She has lived in
Martinique, France, Mexico and the US.
She graduated from Bordeaux Business School and earned a Master of
marketing and trade degree (France); while studying in France, she lead a
project to fund raise for books and bookshelves for a Haitian School
through the non-profit organization Haiti Soleil. She also has a background
in working with multinational companies; she worked at Unilever France in
merchandising and key account departments where she performed marketing,
trade and market analysis.
Malika has also worked for the Quebec Government's representation in Mexico
and thanks to her public relation abilities she successfully promoted
Quebec in Mexico. At the same time, interested in preserving the
environment, she founded, and owned a boutique of French organic beauty
care in Mexico city.
Convinced education is the key to a better future, she enjoys sharing her
knowledge with young children: in 2009 she participated in an exchange
program and taught French to 1 to10 year old children in Chicago,
volunteered as a teacher with the United Nations Youth Organization in
underprivileged communities of Mexico, and volunteered at after school
programs in Bordeaux, in France.
Currently, She enjoys spending time with her newborn baby Maël.
