Minimum Requirements for Volunteer Applicants

Currently, all volunteer opportunities can be done remotely.  ULC welcomes volunteers in other countries as well. Because of the nature of the work required, ULC has developed a set of requirements for its volunteers.

* Applicants should complete the appropriate volunteer application.  For some positions, volunteers may be asked to submit a resume, cover letter and provide references.

* Background checks may be required for certain volunteer positions.

* All applicants must be willing to attend volunteer training sessions, as required by Volunteer Resources and be willing to attend training as deemed necessary.

* All applicants must interview with and be approved by the Executive Director

* Applicants must be willing to commit to the length of the project for which they apply, and must adhere to any pertinent deadlines.

* Volunteer applicants must be willing to record service hours daily and report them to the Executive Director.

* All volunteers must demonstrate an appropriate and positive manner of behavior and communication skills.

* Volunteers in certain positions may be required to withstand long periods of walking and standing.

* Volunteers must agree to the Volunteer Program Policy, Social Media Policy, and Confidentiality Policy, and will be offered a Media Release Form to grant or not grant Universal Learning Centre permission to use photos and video taken of the volunteer.
