Technology & Innovations: Darron Smith

Darron Smith is a Honeywell Aerospace Customer & Product Support Leader. In this role, Darron oversees the Americas customer and product support contact centers. He is responsible for the performance and development of a team of customer service managers, supervisors and professionals. He works collaboratively with cross-divisional Honeywell Aerospace resources to formulate strategies and plans and deploy technical resources in an effort to offer world class customer service.

Before joining Aerospace in early 2006, he spent 10 years at Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) Strategic Business Group (SBG), where he was an information technology (IT) leader. Here he collaborated with cross Honeywell strategic business groups to deploy leading edge technologies, and establish strategic roadmaps in support of ACS business objectives. On a separate assignment, Darron spent a number of weeks in Europe leading IT initiatives in support of multi billion dollar acquisitions and mergers.

Before joining Honeywell, he worked at Standard Products Canada Limited where he was a plant launch manager and assisted with the setup of a facility in Aguas Calientes Mexico, which supplies parts to Nissan and many other automotive companies. Darron is from Toronto, Canada. He and his wife Deborah and their three boys (8, 6 and 3) moved to Phoenix, Arizona in April 2006 for his role in Aerospace.

Darron is a professional engineer and holds Engineering and Biophysics Degrees from the University of Western, Ontario, Canada. He is Six Sigma Black Belt Certified.
